Fermentation equipment is one of the most important equipment in microbial engineering. An excellent culture device should be designed with a tight structure, good liquid mixing performance, high mass transfer and heat transfer rates, and reliable detection and control instruments. Get maximum productivity.
Fermentation equipment is divided into aerobic fermentation tanks and anaerobic fermentation tanks according to whether fermentation requires oxygen. However, the actual application in production is mainly aerobic microbial fermentation, so there are the most types of aerobic fermentation tanks and the most thorough research.

1. Anaerobic fermentation tank
Mainly used for the production of alcohol, acetone, butanol, lactic acid and beer, etc. and for immobilized cell fermentation. The loading coefficient can reach 0.8-0.9. The tank is generally a vertical conical shape, made of steel plate or reinforced concrete. The cover and bottom are dish-shaped or conical. The height of the tank is generally 1-1.5 times the diameter.
2. Aerobic fermentation tank
Aerobic fermentation tanks usually use ventilation and mechanical stirring to increase the dissolution rate of oxygen to meet the metabolism of microorganisms and the accumulation of products.
According to the way of energy input, aerobic fermentation tanks are divided into three categories: internal mechanical stirring type, external liquid stirring type and air injection lifting fermentation tank.
